Recently released in preview, Intune now supports changing the primary user of Windows 10 devices! The process is fairly simple. In the MEM portal (https://devicemanagement.microsoft.com), select Devices > All Devices (or Windows) > and any Windows 10 device.
Under Properties, select Change primary user:
Select a user from the popout and that’s it! Just be sure that the user you select is licensed, or it won’t accept the input:

This option is greyed out for me even though the devices are all Hybrid Azure AD joined.
Any clues as to where i might be going wrong?
Did you ever figure this out? I have one that is greyed out also; I’m guessing its due to it running 1903?
Does a Microsoft Intune Device license work for this?
I don’t believe so – since device licensing doesn’t support user management features, there shouldn’t be a primary user to change.
